The Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) UAE presented its first Middle East Strategy Conference on October 5, 2016 in Dubai, UAE. The one day strategy conference attracted more than 100 of the industry’s leading hotel practitioners from the fields of revenue management, marketing, sales, and distribution. Featured industry experts provided insights and facilitated discussions on the latest trends, case studies, research, and industry data. The goal of the event was to show hotels how to maximize occupancy, average daily rates, and profitability ratios.
John Fareed presented a keynote titled “Soft Brands, Boutiques and Lifestyle: What’s the difference and what’s different?” He shared the latest trends on each segment, his expert opinion on the pros and cons, and how each is changing the traditional “hard branded” world of hospitality.
